An account has been opened at Community State Bank in Paton to accept donations for Jess and Tiffini Toliver and their family. Their home in Eagle Grove burned in the early hours of Dec. 26. The home and most of their belongings were destroyed.The family was home at the time of the fire. Jess and Tiffini and their five children escaped the blaze, but their golden retriever Harley was killed.
Jess Toliver is a 1991 Paton-Churdan graduate and was the elementary principal and school superintendent at P-C from 2006 to 2009. He has been school superintendent at Eagle Grove since leaving P-C. His parents are Ron and Teena Toliver of rural Churdan.
Checks can be mailed to Community State Bank at Box 217, Paton, IA 50217. Other personal items can be dropped off at the First Baptist Church in Churdan.
